Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Manager to oversee daily shipping and receiving operations in a steel and metal fabrication environment. This role requires hands-on experience working with metal materials and fabricated steel products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication or steel manufacturing, forklift operation, freight documentation, and inventory management. This position requires a self-starter who can manage operations independently while ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all shipping and receiving operations

• Load, unload, and move steel and fabricated metal materials using a forklift

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing freight

• Prepare, review, and manage Bills of Lading (BOL) and shipping documentation

• Maintain accurate inventory records and material tracking

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry, inventory tracking, and reporting

• Coordinate daily shipping schedules and prioritize workload

• Enforce safety procedures in a metal fabrication environment

• Communicate with carriers, drivers, production, and management teams

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a metal fabrication or steel manufacturing environment

• Hands-on experience working with steel materials and fabricated components

• Strong understanding of how fabrication operations impact shipping priorities

• Proven forklift experience (certification preferred)

• Experience managing Bills of Lading (BOL) and freight documentation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Strong organizational and leadership skills

• Ability to work independently and manage daily warehouse operations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand, walk, and work in a non-climate controlled steel facility
