Job Summary

A steel company in Chattanooga is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join their team. This position involves welding steel components according to specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards. Candidates must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, as duties may require exposure to varying weather conditions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on steel materials

• Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications

• Set up welding equipment and maintain tools properly

• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and structural integrity

• Grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces before and after welding

• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times

• Assist with material handling and positioning of steel components

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Follow supervisor instructions and production schedules

Qualifications

• Previous MIG welding experience required

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately

• Experience working with steel fabrication preferred

• Strong attention to detail and quality

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more

• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work performed both indoors and outdoors

• Must be able to withstand heat, cold, and other weather conditions

• Standing for extended periods

• Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive movements
